Last night I attended a presentation about the City Rail Link project currently being constructed in Auckland, New Zealand.
The presentation titled “BIM and the City Rail Link project” was hosted by the Link Alliance, the group of companies undertaking the project.
BIM methodology is at the core of the project and a range of software applications is being used to deliver the work.
The presentation centered around of the definition the project information framework, the development of project specific applications to support collaboration, metadata and asset management, and the use of project reporting systems to monitor progress. These tools are rigorously applied by all participants to form the common data environment (CDE) housing all project information.
The project received the AEC Excellence Awards // 2020 and for the project context, see City Link
